Monomachine

My latest purchase, the Elektron SFX60. Just bought it today at Feedback, at an incredible discount price cause it was a demo. Awesome! It’s going to sit nicely next to its older brother.
And what do you know, turns out Elektron are holding a Christmas lottery so if I get really lucky I might win another one!

The IKEA was selling them for 1,49 euro a piece. I thought that odd since they were normally a couple thousand each. I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth. I bought 60. I like plaids.
Will be fun to see all these JWG kids sitting nice and warm behind their telescopes or by the camp fire.

Sneeuw in Stockholm

New DiscoWolf78 rehearsal mixes!
by teknopipo on Dec.11, 2009, under Audio, Friends
The future of DiscoWolf78 is uncertain. Erik the Awful is leaving us for at least a while, and the rehearsal rooms in Älvsjö are being scaled down. So we figured it would be a good idea to record some of our latest tracks before it’s too late. We recorded on 8 tracks in a live room, including some of our first own productions! Check it out!

Tunnelfest
by teknopipo on Dec.10, 2009, under Daily life, Friends
Last weekend I discovered that illegal stuff does happen in Stockholm. A tekno party in one of the abandoned Södermalm railroad tunnels. Apparently there’s a whole bunch of these tunnels around Södermalm. The tracks were used to transport the wounded to Södersjukhuset during the war, I learned from Burmester. Actually that got me wondering, what was going on in Sweden during WWII?
Anyway, what could have been awesome turned out to be a classic fail. From the start I thought it was strange that the party was announced on Facebook, but I was thinking hey this is Sweden, maybe it just works here. Unfortunately not, by the time we got there the police had already cleared the area. Too bad because it was a pretty cool idea, building a sound system on a ghost railroad track inside a mountain… And on the bright side, it’s the closest I’ve come so far to hearing real tekno in Sweden. We did actually hear two or three bars of high speed kick drums but that was it.
Better luck next time…
